  • Small Business Capital Projects Grant Program

    The Small Business Capital Projects Grant program provides one-time, project related, financial assistance on a reimbursement basis, to encourage the growth and retention of existing Westminster businesses. Project criteria include real property improvements: a permanent addition to, or betterment of, real property that enhances the capital value.

  • Small Business Scholarship Program

    The Small Business Scholarship Program provides reimbursement of business training expenses to licensed Westminster entrepreneurs and small business owners/employers with 50 or fewer employees. The program reimburses 50 percent of the cost of tuition, fees, and required materials, up to $500 per business, per calendar year, after successful completion of courses.

    We offer specialized geographic incentives like our business façade and site improvement grant, as well as the Colorado Enterprise Zone (EZ) Program, intended to assist with revitalization efforts in blighted areas throughout the state.

    Permitting
    The Building Division issues permits for all new construction within Westminster.  This involves detailed examination of building plans, calculations and specifications for compliance with building, plumbing, mechanical and electrical codes, as well as field inspections of all aspects of construction.

  • Business Licenses

    Every person engaged in business in Westminster must comply with the city’s licensing and tax laws.  All businesses must apply for a Westminster Business and or Sales and Use Tax License.  The license required depends on what the business will be doing in the City.  Westminster also administers and collects its own local taxes.  The Sales Tax Division administers all provisions of the Westminster Municipal Code pertaining to taxation.  Westminster tax and licensing laws may differ from those of other local governments and from the State of Colorado.
