A St. Louis-based barbecue restaurant chain said it will open its first Colorado location in Westminster later this year.

Sugarfire Smoke House said it will open its 11th overall U.S. location at at 14375 Orchard Parkway in Westminster, in the space of a former Brixx Woodfired Pizza, in the summer.

Chad and Jamie Green will operate the Westminster location for the chain, which opened its first restaurant in St. Louis in 2012.

“We are so excited to join a growing barbecue community here in Colorado and can’t wait to share Sugarfire’s unique and edgy perspective on low and slow cooking,” Chad Green said in a statement.

The Westminster Sugarfire location will be different than other locations because it will offer a full-service bar. It will seat about 90 people inside and there will be an additional 50 seats on the outside patio.

The St. Louis Business Journal, a sister publication, reported that Sugarfire announced plans in 2017 to open locations in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, and Indianapolis later this year. And in 2015, the restaurant chain reported about $20 million in annual revenue.
