The City provides financial assistance to facilitate business growth and development. Economic Development staff evaluates company qualifications on a case-by-case basis and agreements are based on a combination of the following considerations: Wage levels, sales tax generated, number of employees, and size of private investment, alignment with City’s strategic goals, and type of business. All agreements are subject to City Council approval. Potential City assistance includes:
- Rebates of building permit fees to reduce construction costs
- Rebates of use taxes on construction to minimize costs during development
- Rebates of permit fees
- Assistance pursuing county personal property tax rebates and state incentive and job training grant programs
- Assistance pursuing applicable state incentives
