The City provides financial assistance to encourage investment in business improvements and training for its employees, recognizes and honors local business through awards and with advocacy, organizes free training opportunities to build business capacity, and provides technical assistance on a variety of business start-up and support topics.

2024 Small Business Week – April 28 – May 4, 2024
In Westminster, we take pride in celebrating and supporting our small businesses. At the City Council meeting on Monday, April 22, Mayor McNally proclaimed April 28 – May 4, 2024 as Small Business Week to focus on the significant contributions of the small businesses and their owners in our community, and to celebrate the entrepreneurial spirit. The proclamation was presented to owner of Frolic Brewing Company, Chris Miser.

Each year, the City sets aside the month of November to recognize and thank businesses for their contributions to the Westminster community and this year will be no different. Check back later in the year as the schedule of events and celebration activities are finalized!
Each year the City hosts its annual Business Appreciation Awards luncheon where businesses are recognized and receive awards for Business Legacy, Community Spirit, and Sustainability. See photos from our 2023 event below:
Presented during the Business Appreciation Luncheon, the Community Spirit Award is an opportunity to recognize businesses who are making outstanding contributions to the community by supporting events, programs, or initiatives that benefit the City of Westminster and its residents. This award will also recognize the work that they are doing to make our community more vibrant, resilient, and foster a spirit of service.

Learn More About Our 2023 Winners 2022 RecipientsPresented during the Business Appreciation Luncheon, the SAGE Sustainable Business Program helps local businesses save money, conserve resources, and support the local community through connecting businesses with funds, technical assistance, and services that address topics such as energy and water conservation, waste management, and employee commuting. SAGE Businesses are also celebrated for their achievements through a certification program and recognition events such as these.
