Small business is our business!
In Westminster, we take pride in celebrating and supporting our small businesses. At the City Council meeting on Monday, April 27, Mayor Carmelia proclaimed May 3 – May 9, 2026 as Small Business Week to focus on the significant contributions of the small businesses and their owners in our community, and to celebrate the entrepreneurial spirit. The proclamation was presented to owners of Missing Piece Puzzle Exchange, Denise Hoffman (left) and Erin Leidy (center).
The City of Westminster recognizes that small businesses are the driving force in the local economy and supports and encourages small business development through a variety of programs. The City provides financial assistance to encourage investment in business improvements and training for its employees, recognizes and honors local business through awards and with advocacy, organizes free training opportunities to build business capacity, and provides technical assistance on a variety of business start-up and support topics.
