Downtown Westminster is a 110 acres urban development located halfway between Denver and Boulder, Colorado. The City of Westminster is acting as the master developer and now has over 1 million square feet of multifamily, retail, office and hospitality space open or under development.
“We are thrilled to welcome Famille to Downtown Westminster,” said Westminster Mayor Herb Atchison. “It’s exciting to see the development of our downtown come along, despite the year-long pandemic. We’ve been there to support and help sustain our existing Westminster businesses during this incredibly tough time, and we are hopeful to see new businesses coming on board in our community.”
Famille, behind Executive Chef Laurent Mechin of Jura, France, combines local flavors infused with French refinement, leaving patrons with an upscale dining experience that provides a unique and elevated take on Colorado fare.
Mechin’s menu inspiration stems from his desire to reproduce the classic traditions of his French
upbringing, while infusing elements of the Colorado Rockies and local community offerings. In keeping with the Origin Hotel brand vision to remain closely connected with the local community, Famille will source many ingredients through local farms and vendors, ensuring the highest quality of product and the freshest ingredients on the Famille menu.
Chef Mechin has been awarded a plethora of accolades during his time in the industry, including winning the 2016 Knoebel Cup Colorado and most recently, being awarded the 2019 CineCHEF of the Boulder International Film Festival. “I am enthused to open an exciting new venture in Famille, with anticipation of being a fun, new concept in a recovering restaurant industry and an asset to our community”, Mechin explains, when asked about his eagerness to launch Famille.
Famille’s dinner menu will feature a mixture of “For the Table” dishes, small plates, large plates, and select desserts. Some compelling dishes include Flat-Iron Steak frites, Vive Les Moules Black Mussels, and Grandma Juliette’s Warm Chocolate Cake.
National industry veteran and Master Sommelier, Clancy Noailles, has created a thoughtful and playful list of curated wines, craft cocktails and local rotating beers to pair with Chef Mechin’s culinary offerings. “Food without wine is just empty calories. That being said, we’ve curated some of the best wines, beers and cocktails to further elevate Chef Mechin’s already vibrant menu”. Noailles brings with him a curated
experience to Famille patrons, including a ‘rolling beverage cart’. Inspired by his experience with the rolling wine carts of Alain Ducasse’s ‘Le Louis XV’ restaurant in Monte Carlo, Monaco, the rolling cart will feature eccentric offerings, such as a build-your-own bloody mary bar, signature champagne cocktails and a nightly ‘cocktail du jour’.
Famille will launch dinner service from 5pm-10pm March 24th to April 5th. Then introduce its daily Brunch offering from 7am-3pm starting April 20th, with enhanced menu selections and Tableside Beverage Cart on Saturdays and Sundays. Famille is committed to ensuring guest safety and will be following local and state COVID-19 protocols and reservations are recommended.
