In collaboration with Xcel Energy, the City of Westminster conducted direct and social media outreach to Historic Westminster to encourage participation in Xcel Energy’s Small Business Lighting program. The outreach campaign ran from November 1, 2018 to February 28, 2018. During this time, 12 businesses enrolled in the program and the electricity savings for these businesses totaled more than 184,000 kWh. These businesses also benefited from almost $15,000 in equipment rebates from Xcel Energy. During the campaign period, Westminster had the seventh highest participation in Xcel Energy service territory in the Small Business Program behind Denver, Boulder, Aurora, Grand Junction, Lakewood, and Littleton.
