This week, Governor Polis announced that restaurants could begin reopening, in accordance with updated guidelines, on Wednesday, May 27. The city has created additional guidelines to allow restaurants to temporarily expand their areas of service, while promoting social distancing.

The guidelines answer basic questions and provide guidance on the program.

All businesses interested in expanding areas of service must submit a temporary application.

“The restaurant industry is one of our primary sectors to propel this economy forward,” said Economic Development Director John Hall.  “I’m continually encouraged to see another step toward their reopenings, and the city’s response to thoroughly and quickly create the processes required reflects our commitment toward economic recovery for our business community.”

“We knew this vitally important industry might be allowed a further step in reopening,” said Community Development Department Operations and Community Preservation Manager Aric Otzelberger. “Our team has been preparing the details to follow state and county requirements and we’re very pleased to already make those available.”
