Comcast is offering marketing, creative, media, and technology services to small, minority-owned businesses as part of their Comcast RISE program.

Comcast RISE (which stands for representation, investment, strength and empowerment) is designed to provide grants and services to business owners from traditionally underrepresented communities. The program is part of an expanded diversity, equity and inclusion commitment that Comcast announced last June.

Over the last couple of years, small businesses have been dealing with the ongoing impact of the pandemic, social unrest, and environmental events. Small businesses owned by people of color have been some of the hardest hit. According to the National Bureau of Economic Research, between February and April 2020, the number of active Black-owned businesses declined by 41%, Latinx-owned businesses declined by 32%, and Asian-owned businesses dropped by 25%, versus just 21% for the general population.

Comcast RISE is a multi-year commitment to provide marketing, creative, media, and technology services to small businesses owned by people of color. Applications for Comcast RISE are being accepted now, and if your business qualifies, you’ll have the opportunity to receive one or more of the following services:

  • Marketing and advertising consultations
  • Media placements over a 90-day period
  • Commercial creative production services
  • Technology services from Effectv and/or Comcast Business
