Earlier this month, Trimble, Inc. opened a new 119,000 square-foot building in Westmoor Technology Park. This new building doubles Trimble’s presence in Westmoor, giving it room to grow to about 1,100 workers and making the campus the international company’s largest employment site.

Trimble first moved to Westminster from Sunnyvale, CA 18 years ago, setting up shop in Westminster’s Church Ranch Corporate Center with 68 employees. Success and growth brought them to a larger facility in Westmoor Technology Park, where at first they just leased office space for several years.

Trimble put down permanent roots in Westminster in 2012 and built a 125,000 square-foot, LEED Gold office building that now employs about 600 people. At that time, they purchased enough land to accommodate a second building.

The new building that opened earlier this month is a near replica of Trimble’s original building at 10368 Westmoor Drive.

Trimble makes hardware and software that put global positioning  information and land-surveying technologies to use in navigation, civil construction engineering, agriculture, transportation and other industries.

In Westminster, Trimble focuses on research and new product development for the agriculture, civil construction and geospatial/site surveying industries. The company employs 9,200 people worldwide and has manufacturing sites in California, Sweden, Germany and Japan. The company also has office in the Inverness office park in the Centennial area and in Boulder.
